PAINLESS DENTISTRY TECHNIQUES

When most people realise they will have to make a trip to the dentist it’s a given their first reaction will be to run in the other direction. Just the thought of their dentist drilling, inserting needles, or using extraction tools inside of their mouth is painful enough, not to mention the actual experiece they’ll have to undergo once they take a seat in the dental chair. However, dentistry has come a long way. The new generation of dentists are performing pain free procedures to make their patients visit to the dental office as trauma and anxiety free as possible. Because their is an abundance of nerve-sensitive tissue inside of the mouth, any traditional techniques used in dentistry will cause pain. In order for the patient to have a pain free experience a conscientious dentist will first make sure the anesthesia administered has a chance to fully numb the patient’s mouth before they proceed. This requires only a few minutes of patience and good communication between them and the patient. A patient should never remain silent if they experience any form of pain, and the dentist can finish dental work faster when they know their patients are confortable! Aside from anesthesia, many dentists may decide to use other pain reducing methods such as nerve blockers or even hypnosis. Many dentists also may put their patients under sedation, to eliminate any anxiety during a procedure. The benefits of sedation is simple. The patient has no memory of their dental work, thus eliminating the need for other methods that may have to be used to reduce the patient’s anxiety level.

New techniques in dentistry provides the same level of treatment to many common oral issues, but without the pain associated during and after a procedure.
